Here is a screenshot of the issue on a fresh maverick install, just
added two cpu-freq montiors to the panel on top, notice that you can not
read the text.

Since this bug is easily reproduced I am setting as triaged. Also I am
removing the assigned to status of James Schriver since he assigned
himself 7 months ago.

I've tried with the DarkRoom theme (included in the package human-theme)
wich has a dark background color panel and text color is displayed
correctly.
