I was able to find a copy of xserver-xorg-input-kbd_1.4.0-1_powerpc.deb
on a Debian mirror server. I installed the .deb with dpkg, booted into
recovery mode to generate an xorg.conf, edited the xorg.conf as

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug #513932. That bug appears to
be fixable via running dpkg-reconfigure console-setup, which didn't work
in my case. I think this is specific to the PowerPC.

I am having the same problem with Lucid on a Dual-G4 FW800 MDD Mac - no

I'm having the same problem on my old 12" iBook G4.
I installed xserver-xorg-input-kbd_1.4.0-1_powerpc.deb from debian sid
and added Option "AllowEmptyInput" "off" to my xorg.conf as the
instructions in the bug description suggests, and that does indeed make
the keyboard work again. This was not n
