The page was loaded differently in previous releases (not using the
about protocol handler, but using a chrome URI to load some javascript
to resolve the correct URI for the start page). Yes, it's a shame this
wasn't discovered earlier.

I'm not clear what the feature is - it sounds like a regression to me
given that this page has always worked fine in previous releases.
We can update the uris in ubuntu-docs if necessary and I'll take your

There are multiple issues here:
1) Loading the CSS is blocked by the about: protocol handler in firefox
(this can be fixed in Ubufox)
2) The about: protocol handler in firefox doesn't support relative URI's
(so the css files must be referenced with absolute paths in ubuntu-docs)
