Version 1.4.3 cannot finaliz
I had the same problem as Commoner using Bibus 1.5 on Karmic 9.10. Making the
change means finalize works. I am not sure what to expect from the copy. It
does save stuff
but does not change the name of the file

This patch did not help me alone. Additionally I had to make the change
suggested by siminm at

"usr/share/bibus/bibOOo/bibOOoBase.py line 748 (pointed out by
space_agent)
replace "private:stream" with self.model.getLocation()

Thank, unfortunately I cannot patch the current package in Ubuntu 9.10. In
10.04 they changed already to bibus 1.5.
Anybody that can upload these patches into the karmic repositories?
