Thanks. That lead me on the right path. i had to use it this way
though:
After boot up using livecd, Alt+F2, then:
sudo ubiquity -- ubiquity-no-migration-assistant

I'm getting the same bug. It seems to be related to the fact that I have
a Windows XP partition.
Workaround:
gksu -- ubiquity --no-migration assistant
