I am also experiencing this issue with Pidgin (2.6.2) in Ubuntu 9.10.
The only crash report located in /var/crash has no information about
this crash, so please help me to provide useful information to assist in
solving this problem. I understand the problem could be with Pidgin, so
please guide me

By the way, if it's a Pidgin bug, is there a way to redirect this report
to Pidgin devs? Since "ubuntu-bug pidgin" doesn't work (probably because
this package is PPA-related) and I'm affraid to forward this bug
manually to them lacking useful information.
