This feature doesn't exist in Okteta (the KDE 4 replacement of KHexEdit)
anymore, so I am closing the bug It only took us > 2 years to come
to the conclusion that the bug is a won't fix ;-)

After using KHexEdit for several months, I don't know how I missed this
feature. And yes, it's buggy. Buggy to the point of uselessness.

Alternatively, select it from the menu: Settings->Document Tabs->Above Editor.
(I'm using the German locale, no idea whether I translated it correctly.)

I don't see any tabs, I just get multiple entries under the `Documents'
menu. How did you enable the tabs?
