Well, I don't think it is useful to report a bug for an older version of
KDE (especially a so small/minor one) that is fixed in a newer KDE
version.

Right. Kopete 0.12.3 doesn't send messages on if "Send message"
is set to none.
I was told that you can use shift+ to create multi-line messages.
Would this solve your problem? Or shall we report your wish upstreams?

IF it is the default behavior of kopete to send a message by pressing ,
it should be noted in the short key settings dialog that this is the default.
If there is written that messages are sent by pressing , I expect kopete
to not send the message, despite of the key I press.

Why shouldn't kopete switch back to the default behavior after you
reverted your changes to the "send message" short cut?

OK, I have to correct myself a bit.
If I asign another short key to the action "Send message", then Kopete saves
this correctly and uses it for the future. BUT if I change the short key back
to "none", Kopete uses again, if I want or not.
So this problem is very minor now (at last for me), but
