No. Unless that's changed recently, your customized entries under
/usr/share/calendar get overwritten when the package is upgraded anyway.
"I don't care" isn't a valid reason to close a bug report.

Perhaps a configuration question when the package is installed -
something like "I see your locale is US English. Do you want to display
calendar entries for only this locale?" and defaulting to Yes.
It's a little silly to spam me with all available calendar entries by
default.
