I see you have libcairo2 1.8.8-2ubuntu1 and are on amd64. I also had a
printing issue with that combination, but it was solved by enabling the
karmic-updates repo and installing version 1.8.8-2ubuntu1.1. I would
suggest trying that.

Yes, this is reproducable. Karmic 32bit version, Karmic 64bit version,
unfortunately also on 9.04 on my HP nx8220.
