Cristopher, yes, you could add DEBUG logs to this bug report, to help us
find the issue.
You should do the following:
1. stop the syncdaemon client and applet, and be sure it's fully stopped
("ps -eaf | grep ubuntuone-client" should give you nothing).
2. put a file named syncdaemon.conf in your
ALthough that might not help: The bug disappeared here the day after I
attached to this bug list.

Okay, now instead of crashing, it's hanging indefinitely in the state
where that cloud has the exclamation mark, whether or not I do it from
the command prompt. As it's hanging instead of crashing, there's no
crash message or any other output to go on.
