I can confirm that. With default configuration (nothing entered in the
web browser configuration) click on the systray-icon and select web
browser.
Ubuntu created some debug information that I have attached. I also have
a core dump. Please tell me if I should upload it too (its quite big
though: 1
I can confirm this bug.
When choosing "web browser" or "multimedia", xchat crashes again.
This bug has been reproduced by 4 people (using x86), without changing default
systray configuration.

Bug is easily reproductible (for example, simply click on "web browser"
on the systray menu)

Firefox is directed to the same link. I am aware of not being able to
use flash on x86_64 and this would not crash anything. Firefox simply
gives me the standard "Additional plugins are required to display all
media on this page." message and ignores the unknown code.

Can you try to reach that page using firefox manually? That web page
contain a flash ad at the top.Maybe the problem is not with systray
but with the flash plugin in Fir
I added firefox as my browser and clicked "Check for Updates" again. My
firefox browser launches (directing me to systray's website) but xchat-
systray and xchat still crash.

works fine here on my i386 computer. When I click on check for updates,
it starts firefox and brings me to systray web site.
Do you have a correctly defined browser in the "systray settings"
window?
