going to do about nouveau in Lucid. Once we have a plan of how we'll
approach it, it'll be easy to fix this.

thank you for the explanation Harry. The nv driver don't works for me, i
get only a black screen. Only vesa works and vesa on an 16:9 display
isn't fun. OK just wait for a fix of the problem. :-)

This is true, confirmed.
The reason to the erraneous dependency is this.
Package "xserver-xorg-video-nouveau_0.0.10~git+20090823+569a17a-0ubuntu1"
provides virtual package "xserver-xorg-video-5".
On the other hand,
the package "xserver-xorg-core_1.7.2-2ubuntu2"
conflicts the very same virtual pack
