definitely a bug, I have filed it upstream and you can track and make
comments at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=605034.
As far as I know, no mailer software lets you edit the headers.

I don't think it's a timezone issue. We were both in California. Also,
the problem was not limited to one day shift: it also happened for a two
day shift.
