* Merge from Debian testing (LP: #494384). Remaining changes:

It is pretty silly carrying forward these very small packaging
improvements. Please contact the DM and see if we could get this
incorporated upstream, then we can do a straight sync.

After this merge, tix binary picks up dependencies on libc6 and libx11-6
which it doesn't have right now (crazy, isn't it?)
