Hi,
I found a workaround in the meantime. The issue was probably due to
CD burning incompatibilities. I burnt the CD's on computer A, and used them
to install computer B. This always worked to the particular point in the
installation where it was remounting the root filesystem. I tried several
CD'
Is there a BIOS update for that computer available from Dell? That may
fix the issue.
Also, have you tried other distro's live CDs?
