Hi,
same issue on lucid. This happend after I switched to battery mode and
the brightness changed. But in lucid its even worse, my whole pc
freezes!! I tried this apport-collect command but its not working.

Hi Jeremy,
I found out that there is an update for my bios. But the problem is that
my Acer Aspire 5520 needs Windows for flashing the bios and I have only
Ubuntu (and don't wanna install windows). I think I will try lucid first
and if its still there I can try to update my bios. This bug affects
Raybuntu,
It may be worthwhile for you to see if there is a BIOS update. i know that
we try to keep up with changes in the BIOs on hardware that we detect. It is
possible that the issues you are seeing are from us expecting a newer BIOS.

No, I'm using the same "old" bios version as I did in jaunty, intrepid
and hardy. I've never seen a problem like this in the older ubuntu
versions.

Hi Jeremy,
Yes this bug is still there! But I have figured out how I can avoid this
most of the time! This only happens (not always) when I'm working with
the battery. When my laptop is plugged in I haven't seen this so far.
Maybe it has something to do with the power managment, especially
dimming

recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
