does it look distorted or does it look OK? That'll help us sort it out
whether it is the import or the playback that goes wrong on your system.

While I don't have mplayer installed my file worked OK with Amarok,
Rhythmbox, Xine, Totem and VLC.
After trying those apps out I then did a complete uninstall of the

Are you using the pre-built .deb from the repos, or another source?
Also, did you use the .aiff I attached so I can rule out that being
something odd on my system?
