It's fixed in lucid (10.04) rc server cd-image, using the minimal
install option for virtual machines.

Hi cheoppy,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

Yes, it is the same.
I'm not sure which one should be marked as a duplicate, since I posted it
affecting the linux package, the other one was posted in the Ubuntu JeOS
section, but it's effecting both of them. And I attached a huge pile of debug
messages. :)
