I'm experiencing this too. What's weird is that I get the empty
Software Center window when I run Software Center from the Applications
menu or from a shortcut on the desktop. But when I run it using gksudo,
it opens fine.
Here's my Terminal output:

Could you please attach the logs in /var/log/apt/term.log and

Hi, I ran software-center in debug mode. Can the developers take a look
at the log out put please. Lets get this fixed OK. It's very annoying.

Yes this is also affecting me. It was working but now it doesn't display

Hi I seem to be having the same issue:
- I installed a fresh new install
- ran software update until everything was up to date.
- Software Center runs but has the same symptoms as the original bug submitter.
There are no applications listed as installed or any listed under any of the

Thanks for looking in to my problem.
I have however just discovered that I no longer have the problem described
above.
Now software center is populated with lots of software ;-)
Maybe one of the updates have solved the problem.
