Quite strange. I have same printer like you, Karmic as well (3 machines,
one as server, two as clients), and everything works like a charm,
flawlessly.
Please ask me whatever you may need to help, here or in Ubuntuforums.

Ah. Thus bug can be closed. I found out that the color casette was not
fully pressed to its place and after doing that, the printer prints
faultlessly.
