This is just a lintian warning, not an error, and I don't see a strong
argument for making a big deal out of it. Putting architecture-dependent
stuff in /usr/share is a problem for anyone who's really mounting
/usr/share across multiple architectures, but putting architecture-
independent stuff in

The unfortunate reality is that we need to support our product on a lot
of different distros, many of which are quite old and don't even follow
the FHS well or at all. We're installing everything into /usr/lib/vmware
and use that kind of like our own little chroot in some ways. We then

Please recheck the FHS:
"Applications may use a single subdirectory under /usr/lib. If an application
uses a subdirectory, all architecture-dependent data exclusively used by the
application must be placed within that subdirectory."
and:
"The /usr/share hierarchy is for all read-only architecture
There are a lot of images placed there that the UI uses. We put all the
icons that are used for launchers, etc. in the correct places in
/usr/share. We keep to ourselves in our folder in /usr/lib so this
really isn't a problem.
