Maybe the workaround (setting mapping to 'us') is not the ideal solution
for the problem. What I like to see is that grdc is working for most of
the people without changing anything. Defaulting to GNOME settings is
indeed good.
But it seems like this default (GNOME setting), is not working good fo
Defaulting to "us" will make people with a different keyboard mapping
unhappy because they have to change it every time. If no mapping is set,
grdc takes GNOME's default one which, in my opinion, seems a safer
choice.
