I think I have encountered the same bug. I made an image of the
situation and you can see clearly that GNU Chess could win with
checkmate in one move. But instead the program waits until the end of
the game and therefore loses.
My configuration is: easy, 10 minutes.

Hi Yorgos,
The decision to make the move is taken by GNUchess, which is the computer you
are playing against. For the full communication between glchess and GNUchess
select View->Enable Logs. The homepage for GNUchess is:

dear Robert,
This is a game of chess that the black (who is the gnu) takes the bishop
with the knight near the end of the game move 20 and finally looses the
game.
