I have confirmed this on an Nvidia mother board and an Intel board with
fresh install and sata HP dvdrom, replacing with IDE seems to correct
problem.

sebastien, if i wait enough for nautilus to mount the cdrom, i will get
the problem; if i don't give nautilus enough time to mount it and i
press the drive button, i won't have the problem, but just because the
cdrom would not have been mounted!

yes, it is reproducible...
i'm sorry but i wasn't clear in my post. by ejecting, i meant ejecting directly
by pushing the drive button. so the problem only occours when i remove the disc
by open the drive. if i right-click on the cd icon in nautilus and select
"eject", the problem doesn't show u
