I can confirm this on a Dell 2800 with the same set of kernel error
messages and hang. Also it works in Ubuntu Dapper x86 if I add
pnpacpi=off to the kernel parameters, but that trick does not work on
amd64.

Confirmed; I see it here too (on a Dell 1850) with
2.6.15-25-amd64-server. This worked with the IPMI kernel modules in
Breezy (and ipmitool worked fine, too):
