Posting this on behalf of Manoj. Manoj was able to get access to a Dell M610 to reproduce this issue. He'd seen similar issues with Dells in the past, ie Bug 302644 . He was able to boot the 2.6.28-16.55 -server kernel after adding rootdelay=60. Will drop this from high to medium due to the noted
