thanks for your reply and yes this bug is still an issue. I have
downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 RC and installed it, installed also "linux-
image-2.6.34-020634rc5-generic_2.6.34-020634rc5_i386.deb" and TrueCrypt
6.3a, rebooted the computer.
Forced a fsck on the mapped drive -> ok

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

The last updates fixed mostly all kernel problems for me. Only the bug
in Gnome/ Nautilus is still there and freezes sometimes Nautilus itself
and all applications which try to access the encrypted media.

I run into this error as well. Using none kernel encryption solves the
issue. If i use kernel crypto, and do not mount then i can access the
disk without problems (I can run fsck.reiserfs). Mounting also works
fine, however the system chashes when I try to access a file

Same here. Used to work with jaunty, but freezes the whole OS with karmic.
Seems like big files cause it more often than small files.
Updated truecrypt from 6.2 to 6.3, but didn't change anything.
