Hardy Heron 8.04 was recently released. It would be helpful if you
could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue -
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . You should be able to test your bug

I am having the same problem, it started with Edgy release. Now with
Gutsy, besides the classical bug, i'm having an extra issue, sometimes
sound juicer opens, because it detects there is an audio CD in the drive
(which has no cd into it!).

I had this happen to me just by browsing on Firefox. The CD option menu
just pops up without a CD in the drive.

I have the same problem, it only started with Herd 5. One odd thing I
noticed in my log is this:
