Ubuntu 10.04-beta1 boots within less than three minutes, without that
lot of error messages. Looks like the issue is solved for me. Thank you!

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

I got EXACTLY same problem on Lucid Live CD 10.04, which starts to worry
me, because my Karmic install was smooth and without such problems. CD-
ROM drive is ok, I tried two different CD-RWs - the same problem.
