The same freeze happens in Edgy 32, but renaming sis_agp.ko fixes it.
Also, in Edgy 64, AGP works fine.

This fixed the bug #34144 too. When I renamed the sis_agp.ko, glxinfo
reported "direct rendering: Yes" and now all works nicely...

I've just upgraded the system to kernel 2.6.15-25-k7, including
restricted modules. The upgrade-manager asked me to reboot my system, as
expected. For my "surprise", the system crashed as soon the X started.
I had to rename sis-agp.ko as I told you before to get a chance to
complain about this bug
