Sorry, we don't do point releases of xserver in already released
versions of Ubuntu. If there is a specific patch you need backported to
karmic feel free to request the specific patch (attach the patch to the
bug report). However, we're mostly focused on Lucid at this point.

Actually I was not affected by the crash bug described by Keith Packard;
But I am affected by a bug in Xephyr:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24144
which was already fixed in upstream version 1.6.5, but Karmic still uses
1.6.4.

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this
