i had the same bug on jaunty with an upgrade from 1.4.3 to 1.5.1 didn't have any stats to keep, so the simple "select all" then "remove from database" and finally rescan music folder was enough to solve the problem and make the playback com... back :) -- Banshee doesn't play https://bugs.laun

This appears to be a database issue. Either it is corrupt, or the latest version is incompatible: http://www.uluga.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1288125 I can see that banshee knows track names and ratings, but does not know about albums or artists. I can see them using sqlite3 to query them
