Please, if you are still having issues, test with the latest development
release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will

No problem with Firefox, Konqueror and Chrome plugins, Rythmbox, Amarok, VLC,
etc. They all play error-free sound, good quality, no jitter, noise, or

Only Totem fails to produce sound. Totem Video image is okay.

I am new to Ubuntu and trying to figure out the proper venues to report

Sound works for me in Rhythmbox. System sounds work as well. The only
application affected seems to be DVD playback in Totem Movie Player.
Hardware: HP Mini 110 Netbook running Karmic Koala release candidate.
DVD drive is an external USB drive. Music CDs play from this drive. DVDs
play from this d
Check that sounds play in System -> Preferences -> Sound
Another program you want to test is rhythmbox, since it uses the same audio
framework as totem (gstreamer).
