I was just deleting some files on nautilus when Xorg crashed and I was
thrown to a command line asking me for my login info. After entering my
password and hitting the enter key, I was presented with the login
screen, so I entered my password again, and then I was in, but it was a
new session.

Dual monitor, laptop screen went "liney" (this is normal when X is
shutting down), console login appeared on external monitor. It was there
long enough for me to enter userid and password but before I got a
command prompt it had restarted X and I had the crash detection icon in
the dock

Yep, similar situation here. Actually, I walked away and when I returned
I was greeted by my login screen.

I am also affected by this bug. I was just innocently working in Firefox
when nasty old xorg went and killed my computer. Please, stop the
horrible murder that xorg is inflicting upon my computer.

It keeps crashing and it is really annoying.
Other symptoms: Ctrl-Alt-F1 shows garbage.
I have a Geforce GTX260.
Should I post the bug in the Nvidia Linux forum?

Crash probably because of the nvidia binary drivers, but maybe the
report is useful anyway...
Was just doing normal app usage, working with Evolution, and Xorg
dissapears, dumping me to a terminal.
