isn't there a "initial install" bug category ? Looks like initial
release was wrong, then autocorrected. Not saying someone needs to
look into code, but that could be an interesting statistic ?

The sound works in live cd. i don't know what happened. I installed in
windows with wubi, install some programs (GCC, sdl libraries,
intltool...) and install some upgrade for ubuntu (this hapened in
29/10/2009). I turn off the computer and when turn on the sound gone.

Solved for me with a small workaround after googleing a bit, it is not
the best solution but it will suffice until an official fix is released.
My hardware config:
