Closing this bug per the reporter's wishes. Also, password-length is not
limited by the number of characters displayed in the password entry
field/text-box.

In the latest release of Ubuntu I can enter 12 characters in the
password box. You can still enter additional characters past this point
so I don't really see this as a bug.
I believe this can be withdrawn.
