No, that bug is about gnome-screensaver-command --poke being broken. our
patch to mplayer (which was rejected upstream, BTW) simulates keypresses
on its own.

close this one and file a new one with ubuntu-bug, that will attach
various kinds ofinformation about your system, include exact package
version and architecture.
Is this the same bug as 428884? It seems similar, but I haven't had a
chance to test whether the recently released fix helps. Anyone seeing

I'm reopening this bug and confirming, as a few other people (previous
comments) and I have noticed this issue in both the GUI and non-GUI
versions of mplayer. It's particularly annoying with gnome-screensaver
because for some reason, it does not recognize any input from the

Cannot disable screensaver in SMPlayer since last update, too.
First, I had this problem about mouse pointer popping up every 8-10

screensaver was disabled), and now the option (set from GUI) doesn't
work at all).

I can't disable the screensaver in Mplayer or VLC. There appears to be a
separate bug report on VLC that gave me the impression the problem only
affected VLC, but in my case the problem did not exist in either player under
9.04 and does on both my PC's now upgraded to 9.10 affecting both VLC and
@10 not sure that is the same bug. Fullscreen works fine here. Just
can't disable screensaver.

No, that switch does not work. I tried in absence of all other switches,

It is a correct switch, but it looks like this is more than a default
config issue.

mplayer's 12-foot manpage.
Default would definitely be better, if nothing else just to match older
