Remember though I looked at the uncompiled kernel that 8.10 and 9.04 run and
the drivers / modules for the 350 are in there however rather on 8.04 they
aren't there or they don't work. But my fix works and this bug effects all
computer with 8.04 who try the 350 By Cisco

I don't think I have but I will start up my hp and try the backport package,
I am currently building the fix. I figure I would do it anyways.

is possible the fix is already there, considering that it works on 8.10
and 9.04.

NOTE TO ALL: I am currently making a bug fix for this problem.
When it is done and I have it tested, I will release it, Please note that it
isn't a kernel patch. Just execute it and then restart the pc and done and

The 350 works on 8.10, 9.04. I run 8.04 on my desktop and my hp, and run
9.04 on my toughbook. I am trying to run 9.10 but it doesn't have livecd.

BTW, did you try more recent versions of Ubuntu to see if the bug is
present there (either Intrepid or Jaunty)? If not it would be great if
you could test it with a Jaunty LiveCD (so you leave your current setup
unchanged).

I can try to make a patch all thats is needed is to be able to copy 2 lines
of commands to a file which even in C++ would be very simple. I again will
try to make a patch I don't believe it is really kernel based but I could be
wrong I am a novice programmer and all but I knew enough to make a Ubun
Thank you. If would be ideal if you could make a patch that could be
easily included in a bug fix updated. New packages are hardly allowed in
a stable distro, let alone a LTS.
In any case if you make the patch, please upload it to this bug report,
and make sure you check the "this attachment is a
Thank You, However the info in the problem description that specifies how to

There is none the card can't be detected at all that is why the information
is not available. I am going to report another bug it is ACPI related and
affects all Ubuntu distros, It does have the required info. Thanks, Sorry
for any disrespect I am just trying to help improve the Ubuntu community.
There is no need to be frontal and aggressive here, I am triaging the
bug and trying to get as many information as possible in order for the
developers to fix the bug (I am a volunteer myself, part of the
BugSquad). It's a standard procedure to set the status as incomplete
when more information are
what kind of extra dam info you people want huh.
