It seems the latest update has fixed a lot of the problems.
Time will tell if it is all the problems.

got one, but for some reason unknown, the mkdir command wouldn't work
properly in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze so the data
is in the wrong directory
Route to production
Boot (kernel -10)
switch to gdm debug mode via tty4
suspend
resume
At this point compiz has failed
Moving to -intel since unless there is specific evidence it's a libdrm
issue, it's better just to keep all these freeze bugs together.
Btw, we still need either a) steps to reproduce, or b) a batchbuffer
dump, before this bug can be examined by developers. See

It seems I have similar problems on my HP6930p despite I am not sure it
is the same thing. About a week ago, all used to work fine. Now, after
an update of the system to the latest version, if I suspend and resume,
the screen seems OK for a second while I still see the dialog box with
the reboot/su
It appears for me the problems only occur if compiz / visual effects are
enabled.
Without suspend / resume is flawless
With I get about 60 seconds to gdm restart or I get a system freeze
followed by manual fsck after hard reset.

I get a similar behavior on my Lenovo intel core 2 with x86
Found if I `quickly' go to tty3 and /etc/init.d/gdm restart &
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart I can get full functionality back. If
I don't act quickly it can result in a full system freeze
