Hi, appear the bug came back with the beta release.
radeon.modeset=1 keep things working well, but the X way keeps freezing.

Hi,
FYI, I've updated the package to the latest version available
(6.12.99+git20090825.fc74e119-0ubuntu2) and everything worked well.
The only point is a power management issue when I switch from VT to X. If my
laptop is working without AC plugged in, my screen bright goes to the lowest
level.
