With the Lucid development version, the bug has changed behavior. Now
both the images in my test case end up with poor resolution.

We'd like to figure out what's causing this bug for you, but we haven't
heard back from you in a while. Could you please provide the requested
information?
Lucid now has Abiword 2.8.2 as default, can you confirm this still
exists, please.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed
Also tested the Abiword stable team's PPA package 2.6.8-5ubuntu0ppa2 and
built the source package from Karmic, both times with the same result.
