It is already fixed.
Seemingly when I installed Alpha3 modemmanager wasn't added to ubuntu-
desktop task and therefore no modem fun for me in NetworkManager.
Installed it and everything works now like a charm.

One that would help, is if you could run the command:
% apport-collect 412362
This will collect network-manager specific debug information and attach
it to the bug.
In general, reporting bugs via 'ubuntu-bug ' instead of
directly via Launchpad is preferable, as it will automatically run
apport-*
