I discovered that the size of the cciss_event_type struct was 511 bytes
long when it was expected to be 512. I increased the size of the
padding field in the struct by 1 byte to get it back up to 512 bytes and
my sigabrt has gone away.
I'm not sure that the padding was the correct field to alter,
