Well that was a simple fix, man do I feel stupid now... It must have
gotten removed because it was broken at some point. Installing xserver-
xorg-input-synaptics worked like a charm!

Can you try to install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, restart the Xserver
(or reboot) and see if it solves the problem, please?
