This is probably a bug in either pulseaudio or openal. I'd suggest
reassigning it there. In addition, the versions of pulseaudio/openal in
Debian sid (probably in Ubuntu by now) have a lot of improvements, I'd
suggest to try installing them.

No, the version in Lucid doesn't use OSS, the pulseaudio mixer shows a stream.
Still - there is no sound.
The program start with a crackling sound and then there is silence...
p.s. Please note that this of quite some age.

Binary package hint: chromium-bsu
Chromium-bsu has no sound. I think, all program fails, which uses oss
(Supertux too). I can hear quiet clacking. If I open the gnome sound
- mixer, I can see chromium-bsu at a tab, but the content of the tab (the
- slider) flickers
