My instance was on an amd64 system, and my home directory is using
ecryptfs.
Like Sami, I too see the same behavior from FF3.0 (I didn't notice it
before, because I generally only use 3.5).

I can confirm that this bug exists also with x86 + ext3 /home partition.
In my case it is also present in firefox 3.0.12.
Deleting ~/.mozilla/ didn't change anything.

I can confirm this bug on an amd64 system.
BUT: my home directory is NOT mounted as ext4. It is on a seperate ext3
partition, with a symlink in my home directory.
I deleted the ~/.mozilla/firefox-3.5 directory, same problem... so no
locking issue.
