closing this as this existed in 2.27.2 which was a development release
and if any body would have faced it till now their would have been some
comments in this bug. If any body still face this be free to open it
again

i already updated i have Empathy 2.27.2 and ya i view the offline contacts
and nothing happens always offline

Thanks for the report, could you update empathy and try again? i cannot
reproduce that here, login into msn shows only the contacts that are
online there, do you use the view -> view offline contacts option?
