example, to dim all normal folders you set the type and than you choose which

I also have the same problem on a Toshiba T110/00D. It has the Intel
Mobile 4 Series Chipset and graphics (more specifically Intel GMA
4500M).
The fix somewhat works, but I can't decrease/increase brightness of
panel/cairo-dock, because they still remain bright. There's also the

I found the problem on my Acer Extensa 5635Z (details above)
just turned off acpi in /boot/grub/menu.lst
