Maybe I'm missing something but "scan" which is available as part of
dvb-apps works fine, "dvbscan" is a legacy application. Just use
"scan".

Confirm this is still broken in 10.04 Lucid, but that

(The error is "Unable to query frontend status" although
/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 exists and "scan" in above tar works)
